“TVBLE”

TV has always been placed in the designated area in contemporary living space. Rather than designing a trendy, thinner, and bigger TV that just occupies the room near or on the wall, "TVBLE" suggests an innovative way by implanting proper functionality when used in the other environmental context. "TVBLE" is a transparent OLED technology-integrated product that blends seamlessly into the lifestyle by blurring the boundary between electronics and furniture by tilting it. Unlike traditional TV design, "TVBLE" is made out of Glue-Laminated Timber, a type of engineered wood, which adds a warm accent and softness to space for aesthetic appeal. It's renewable, stronger than steel, durable, and does not twist or bend, unlike solid wood, so it's robust enough for table structure. Each leg has speakers embedded inside for an omnidirectional sound firing system. The design is available in 43" and 65" diagonally. The legs are ergonomically designed at the specific heights of a coffee table for 43" and a dining table for 65". "A tv and a table."

The OLED is surprisingly light and slim; therefore, it's weight-wise beneficial and possible to integrate into the table's typology regarding portability. "TVBLE"'s dual-functioning elevates the space's flexibility and reinterpret the contemporary lifestyle. Users can tilt it with a remote control to adjust the viewing angles for tv use and bring it back to the horizontal level for table use. Opacity control from opaque to transparent screen provides playful possibilities to alter the interior environment. "TVBLE" is incredibly convenient in a small space. One of the great advantages of having "TVBLE" is that the living space can transform effortlessly into a dining space and vice versa. It's for the people who are looking for an ideal balance between form and function at home. You can invite friends to hang out around the "TVBLE" for drinks and tilt the screen to sit back and watch your favorite show together, or facetime your family using the high-resolution camera in the center of the power box.

Explaining "TVBLE" manufacture-wise from top to bottom is straightforward. "TVBLE" has layers of protective film for scratch-proofing the surface and waterproofing the edges, anti-reflective film to prevent glares, 8mm thick tempered glass panel for the table, 4mm thick (according to the brief) OLED transparent panel backing with the dimming unit for the opacity control, all the layers are bound by optically clear adhesive for the perfect invisibility. The power board is made out of aluminum and is flush mounted at the bottom of the screen. It consists of USBs, HDMI ports, power circuits, wiring, camera, and other necessary components. The wooden frame is precisely CNC milled for the mitered butt joint. The legs are also milled and assembled to make a hollow casing inside. The remotely-controlled motors, wires, bearings, and gears are concealed at the connection joint for the rotation with embedded speakers along the slit of the wooden leg. Also, the power cord is located under the leg's center to achieve a simpler aesthetic. The primary market is Europe, and the proposed retail price at TVBLE 43": 5,900 EURO and TVBLE 65": 8,900 EURO. The price is regarded as the sum of the high-end furniture price and a transparent OLED TV price.
