Bird Vessel

Bird Vessel consists of three modules, made of expanded granulated cork, and then bounded by natural resin. Commercial cork is derived from the bark of the cork oak tree, which is impermeable, buoyant, insulator, rot-proof, water-proof, and fire-retardant properties; cork is one of the best sustainable construction material for the birdhouse. Since nesting birds prefer their houses at different heights. It's hanging from various heights from the ground to attract nesting birds while prevents predators.

A leather strap system with side release buckle brings the modules together to form a birdhouse for species like house wren, chickadee, and bluebirds. Besides, the proportion of the birdhouse is scalable to house bigger birds like wood ducks and screech-owls. The organic semi-dome design regulates air ventilation through two entrances holes in an energy-efficient way with drainage holes at the bottom module to prevent flooding during the raining season. Bird Vessel blends with the surroundings while retaining its function and figure. Since the design is modulated, It's convenient to assemble and disassemble for seasonal interior cleaning, and it could also be packed and shipped as a kit so a single person could build the structure without any tools at home.
